Help. Ac making knocking noise I have a similar problem. I just bought a 2007 impala lt with the 3.5 L v6. There is no problem with the ac when its on but when I turn it off it makes a knocking noise from the passanger side for about 30 sec then stops. It ony does it after turning off the ac or vehicle.

The "pinging" is the explosion on a valve not seated all the way.Get your battery tested first, just to rule it out. After that, try the passlock re-learn procedure. Turn the ignition on but don't start the vehicle, leave the key on for 30 minutes and don't touch anything. Rinse and repeat 3 more times.
