Staccato Ps don't need to cost $2.5k, but it's foolish to expect a pistol thats $1k cheaper to be "just as good". No free lunch and Staccato is still the baseline for a double stack that honest to goodness works from the start.

I stick to 1911s. And when I want a double stack, it's a Sig classic P-series. Even the P226 feels downright svelte compared to the Prodigy. Edited to add: Springfield continues to list a weight for the 4.25" Prodigy as 32.5 oz. It's not - mine weighed 37 oz on a digital scale.
